Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 1:55PM Students were introduced to the sculptural art of Alexander Calder and were inspired to use the element of balance to create abstract paper sculptures.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 12:37PM After learning 12 watercolor techniques, students chose a photo of a landscape to depict using watercolors. Students focused on creating a powerful composition, mixing realistic looking colors and creating appropriate textures with various brushstrokes.

Joshua Follansbee created a depiction of a Hobbit home inspired by the illustrations in a book. He used watercolors and then added moss and felt for more textural interest.
