Servathon Kickoff 2016
We kicked off this year's Servathon this week, first with a few students on Monday, and then with a big kickoff lunch yesterday, in which students (1) got in their teams, (2) got their packets, and (3) devoured ice cream sandwiches. It was a fun start to our two weeks of fundraising! We have consistently raised $30,000+ over the last several years, and hope to repeat or beat that work. As we told the kids yesterday, our robust scholarship fund we offer to families each year currently has zero dollars in it, and it is our job in the coming weeks to replenish that.
If you know a New Hoper, you will likely be getting a call/email/letter/nudge in the hallway for a Servathon donation. It is a partnership we ask our students to pursue with families, friends, and local businesses, and is an opportunity for them to help their fellow classmates.
Would you consider supporting our scholarship fund? You will help provide financial aid for many New Hope families, benefitting everyone at New Hope by:
- enabling some families to continue homeschooling for whom it would otherwise be impossible,
- allowing some courses to run that otherwise might not,
- enriching our entire community by having larger and more diverse courses, and
- providing a tangible way for students to reach out and help their fellow students.
You can give online at our FirstGiving page. New Hope is a 501c(3), and all donations are tax-deductible. Here are some more images from yesterday's kickoff:
