Jodi Fryling

At New Hope since 2015

Jodi Fryling is a born-and-raised New Englander, moving from Connecticut to Massachusetts to attend Gordon College in 1987.  Her goal since third grade was to become a teacher, and after spending time in the Dominican Republic her freshman year, she discovered that Spanish was her true passion.  A summer in Bolivia and a semester in Central America gave her a desire to serve the Lord among other cultures, and to share His saving grace . . . wherever He may take her and her husband.

Married in 1992, Brent and Jodi lived and served in urban Philadelphia PA, Amish Lancaster PA and Navajo Ganado AZ, where she taught Spanish 1-4 in public high schools.  In southern Memphis TN she was a medical translator, and in war-torn Afghanistan she taught English at a local university. In the United Arab Emirates she was an educational language consultant for the hospital where her husband worked.  During this global journey, Brent and Jodi had the privilege of using the gifts of teaching and medicine that the Lord had given them to share His Love with the communities where they lived.  They saw God work in miraculous ways in people’s lives, and were privileged to see first-hand how He is working all over the world.  Their 25-year journey together brought Brent and Jodi back to North Shore, Massachusetts three years ago, where they are enjoying raising their pre-teen sons (their own God-given miracles) and serving The Lord who has blessed them so.

Although Jodi never became a missionary in South America as was her desire after her summer in Bolivia, she is astounded at how The Lord’s plans are so much better and more amazing than she could have ever dreamed or imagined.  For Jodi, teaching Spanish is a joy, and she looks forward to serving Him at New Hope Tutorials for this next season of her and her family’s life.
