Mrs. Monahan first came to New Hope in 2017-18 as the 7th grade Earth Science teacher. Since then, she has established herself as both a Math and Science teacher here, teaching Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, MS Math and Physical Science, to name just a few.

Mrs. Monahan earned her B.S. degree in math from Providence College, then a B.S.EE (Electrical Engineering) degree from Northeastern. She has been privately tutoring in math (grades 5-12) since 2010, including SAT Prep and tutoring other professionals to earn their teaching credentials. "I take my love of the math and sciences to the students at New Hope. I want the students to see the everyday practical applications of math and science as well as ease their transitions into more complicated topics by giving them the tools and confidence they need. My goal is to make the learning fun as well as comprehensive to keep the student’s passion for learning alive."

She lives on the North Shore with her husband and four children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys working with youth and has been involved with the youth soccer program in her town for the last 15 years. Also very involved with her church, Kristen runs the Catholic youth program for grades 1-5. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, go on hikes, exercise and read.
