Martha Geraghty

At New Hope since 2007

While not a homeschooler herself, Martha has the heart of one. She credits her parents with passing on the  importance of education, along with the philosophy that not every child fits into the same educational mold.

While working as a website writer/editor, Martha interviewed founder Joan Smith (in the winter of 2006) about New Hope. She was hooked! In February of 2007 she came to work as Joan's assistant, and found her place serving the homeschooling community.

Martha studied English Literature/Business Communications at the University of New Hampshire. Her past work experience includes registration and educational programming with the North Shore Music Theater; conference and event planning with Interop, Inc. of California; public relations work with H.P. Hood Inc. and the San Jose Convention and Visitor Bureau; and website editing/writing for the North Shore Christian Network, based out of Beverly, MA.

She lives with her husband and three grown daughters on the North Shore of Boston, and enjoys the ocean, golfing, reading, gardening and visits with her many siblings and cousins.
